PR Friendly/Contact Info/FAQ

Press Relations/Contact Information:

I would love to review your product, and share these products with my readers.  In order to make the process seamless, the following are my company guidelines.

1.  If you are with a company and/or PR firm and wish to contact me via email, please have your full name, your company name, and a valid company web address to connect with.  My contact email is Jules@alittlebiteoflife.net, my name is Julie, and my blog is A Little Bite of Life

2.  I may promote/advertise a relevant product, without review, for a sponsored post fee.  I do not, at this time, offer complementary promotion of a product, unless product is received.   I would love to do business with you, as this is my business, but will not promote your product for free.  If you would like to purchase advertising on my site, please contact me for a media kit.

3.  I will accept product for review, as long as it is relevant to the content of my site.

4.  I will accept relevant items for product giveaways.

4.  I reserve the right to refuse any product that I deem inappropriate, or irrelevant to the content of my blog and viewers.

5.  I will give an honest, non-bias review of products for my viewers.  Please be aware that if I dislike an item, I will still try to state the pros and cons of said item, if possible.  If I really do not like your product, I will not post a review and promote your product on A Little Bite of Life.  I will, however, contact the company/PR firm that provided the item, to advise why I did not post a review.

6.  Product shipping is the responsibility of the sender, and products are non-returnable.

7.  I will fully disclose the nature of any product review and/or giveaway, per FTC guidelines.

8.  I welcome relevant brand ambassadorship programs, and am looking for sponsorship to the BlogHer conference in New York City in August 2012.

Giveaway Policy (Updated 10/17/11)

I will make all attempts to honor the commitment of a giveaway prize and/or winner.  99% of the giveaway prizes come directly from the company sponsoring the giveaway, so I am at the mercy of their shipping schedule.  Most prizes are shipped within 6-8 weeks of the giveaway ending/announcement, unless otherwise noted.  Giveaway prizes coming directly from me are usually send within 10 - 14 days of giveaway ending.

I am currently using Rafflecopter for my giveaways.  It is a more streamlined/automated system, and the winner(s) are chosen randomly via random.org through the Rafflecopter system.  All winners are announced on the Rafflecopter interface within the giveaway.  I will try my best to announce winners within 48 hours of giveaway ending at the top of the giveaway as well.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is a blog?
According to Wiki, a blog is..."(a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video." I like to think of a blog as a place where I can ramble incessantly.

Why do you have a blog?
Several reasons. First, I got tired of talking to myself, so figured I could come here and write to myself. (Just kidding!)  If I pick up a few friends along the way, than the more, the merrier.  Secondly, I love food, and by blogging, I can connect with other people who eat.  Lastly, I have way too much time on my hands, and thought this would be a good use of my day (snicker, snicker.) Come on folks--I blog because I love to cook, and I love to write. I get to do a little of both here. Until I get my book deal, you are stuck with me.

You often refer to others as "Biters".  Who are these "Biters"?
"Biters" are the people who come to A Little Bite of Life and read my posts. In particular, they are the people who frequent and subscribe to my blog- my peeps. I love you guys!

Are you a food blogger? A mommy blogger? What the hell are you?
I am a mom who blogs about food, her family, friends, travel, and her dog. I prefer to think of myself as a life blogger. I don't like to be boxed into a category, because I am one of a kind (my husband and mother are thankful for that.)

What won't you talk about here?
For the most part, I will not talk about my marriage and/or sex life. I do not want to bore anyone to death. Other Mom blogs thrive on doing this, but it ain't happening here!

I will may also not talk about religion or politics. I happen to like both, but since I have a gigantic soap box, which I like to hop on, I would scare every last one of my "Biters," if I started ranting. I want this place to be a refuge from all the stress and turmoil of the "real world." When "Biters" come here, I want them to frolic in fields of green, with unicorns and butterflies, and lounge on silken blankets, while bare-chested men (or women) feed them grapes. (Would you like a bucket to throw up in now?) Seriously...we talk the language of food, family, and fun here. Take a five minute break from the media and politics, and enjoy yourself, okay?

Are you crazy?
My husband could better answer this question, but he's not talking.
