Don't you just love that room design above? So relaxing, so chic, so..."me". As a busy Mom, wife, and business owner, I am always on the go. I love spending time with my family, but in a house full of boys, sometimes I just need a little "me" time, but "me" time is in short supply. I rarely even get a chance to watch my favorite show or read a book. If I had that room above, as my "Mom cave", I would definitely carve out some "me" time.
I mentioned in the past how I've wanted to convert our spare bedroom/craft room into my "Mom Cave". We painted the room (bright yellow), and I put cute flower photos on the walls, but then real life kicked in, and my Mom cave never got completed. Other than my craft table and a bookshelf, I have no other furniture in the room. In fact, the room has become a place to store things, and wrap Christmas gifts. Pretty pathetic, huh? It sure would be nice to have a chair or two...maybe some pretty lamps...or a sofa and throw pillows? Hey! A girl can dream, can't she?
Isn't that always the way, though? The kids have a playroom, Dad has a "man-cave", with big screen tv to watch the game (or whatever shoot-em-up movie is on tv), but what about Mom? Mom gets a laundry room (ohhhh!) and a kitchen (ahhhh!) but in both those rooms, we are constantly on our feet. What about a place where we can sit on our tushy, in quiet solitude, and contemplate life's mysteries? (Snort) I would be happy with five minutes to read a magazine. Is it too much to ask for an hour to watch a chic flick? Or two hours to curl up on the couch, and take a snooze cruise? Huh? Is it??
Sorry. I got a little carried away. I can't help it...I have wonderful news to share with you in a moment. But first...what would you put in your dream "mom cave"?
