Christmas is always a fun excuse to make cookies at our house. My husband, the original "cookie monster" happily devours everything I make, and my son, "cookie monster Jr", enjoys Christmas cookies for breakfast, in his lunch box, or whenever!
Growing up, I loved making Christmas cookies with my Mom and sister. Being big on tradition, I now love to make cookies with my own family. My son and I have been baking Christmas cookies together since he was very little, so it is tradition in our house to set aside the first Saturday in December to bake cookies together. It's become a joke in our house that for every cookie my son makes, he eats one too, so that if he would just stop eating the cookies, we would have so many more! (My husband and I sneak a few too, so we really can't complain.) We make gingerbread men, sugar cookies, candy cane cookies, snickerdoodles, and chocolate chip bars, but my family's all time favorite cookie is my Peanut Butter Thumbprint cookies. Moist and chewy, with a tangy strawberry center, my peanut butter thumbprints don't last long in this house...we've decided that even Santa likes the Peanut Butter thumbprints best!
